Nice Positive: Host was really nice and kind. The terrace is impressive. Negative: It would be nice to have an additional toilet available.

Great space and hosts. Positive: Great location, nice environment and fantastic hosts Paul and Kaari. Negative: Could do with more shower rooms and toilets.

Positive: I loved everything about Ora Retreat. I enjoyed my first stay so much that I booked it again, and stayed once more during my travels in NZ. The views from the terrace are exceptional! The morning swims in the lake were the highlight of my entire trip in NZ (Thank you, Kari). The cabins are nicely cituated and secluded in the garden. There was an amazing energy in all common areas. Kitchen was well equipped with everything I needed. The terrace is well designed with chill-out areas. Everything was wonderful! Loved it!

Overall, we didn’t find Ora Retreat very comfortable to stay at. Positive: The common space has beautiful views. Location is 5-10 minute drive from downtown . Negative: There were several ‘gotchas’ that weren’t clear on the initial booking page. The ‘breakfast included’ didn’t include coffee - additional charge - and breakfast wasn’t much more than a few apples/bananas/corn flakes, the hot tub was an additional $29 per person per hour + additional for the sauna, there was one shower onsite for all of the guests .. and it was in 1 of 2 total bathrooms, there was construction work onsite that removed the ‘retreat’ aspect, and the place felt a little bit unkept.

Beautiful rooms and views, poor breakfast and bathrooms. Positive: Beautiful views and stunning rooms. Very cozy bed and staff very friendly. Negative: Bathrooms could have been a bit better maintained, no hand soap or body wash. One of the evenings the hot water wasn’t working and no staff were around. No gluten free breakfast options, most of the fruit was gone off, coconut yogurt in fridge also gone off.
